If you are not familiar with the changes we previously made to our table production schedule, you can read about them here.
So, you probably know that last year we made the decision to limit our production to 100 tables a year. Expectantly, this has caused our production lead time to stretch out—currently, to over 19 months. While we appreciate all of you that are willing to wait that long to get an heirloom piece of handcrafted furniture, it is still a long time. So, I wanted to assure you we have been working diligently to standardize and streamline our workflow and production process. From that, we have some exciting improvements to share with you!
Justin, our digital wizard, has been working on updating the website to make it more intuitive and better at providing guidance during the design process. He will be rolling out some new online design forms to reduce the pain point of getting our customer's information into our process and moving forward faster where we can. We are also working on numerous other upgrades to improve our information, transparency, and messaging across the site.
Greg, our head of production, has worked tirelessly to streamline or "min/max" our production process even more than before. This is where the biggest payoff has come from. With still only a few craftsmen in the shop, they have been able to increase production by about 15% just by continuing to analyze every step of the production process. That translates to 15 additional tables per year!!
The result of all of this is that we have been able to cut our production schedule down by about 4 months. So, as of today, we have moved up our production month to May 2024. As always, these slots are first come first serve, so if you have been interested in a UG board gaming table we recommend you get your deposit in to save your place in our queue.
As always we want to thank you all for your overwhelming support and while we will never be the largest board gaming table manufacturer, you have our commitment that we will strive to be the best one out there.
