It's been almost two years since we shared the news that Uniquely Geek had found a partner in Omni Gaming, and looking back, it's hard to believe how far things have come. When we made that announcement, we promised our lead times would come down and that the heart of what makes UG special wouldn't change. We're proud to say we've kept that promise. What started as an 18-month wait has been cut dramatically, our shop has more hands and more capacity than ever, and the handcrafted, hands-on approach you've always counted on is still exactly that: handcrafted and hands-on. None of this would have been possible without the trust you all put in us, and we're grateful every single day for this community.
With all of that momentum behind us, we've got a lot to be excited about this season, so let's get into it.
Introducing The Highland
We've been sitting on this one for a while, and it feels great to finally share it: The Highland is here, and it's ready to ship.
The Highland is unlike anything else in our lineup. From the outside, it's a beautiful hardwood dining, side, or craft table, the kind of piece that fits right into your home. Slide the top open with its patented sliding mechanism, though, and it reveals a full gaming surface hiding underneath, built and ready for your next session. Close it back down when the game is over, and it's just a table again. Available in maple, cherry, or walnut, The Highland is built with the same quality and craftsmanship you expect from every table that leaves our shop, just in a shape you've never seen from us before.
And we're not stopping there. This November, we're launching a Kickstarter for The Highland, and we can't wait to share more details as the campaign gets closer. Keep an eye on your inbox and our socials, this is one you won't want to miss.
Two Conventions, One Very Busy Fall
This fall is shaping up to be one for the books. We're heading to BGG.CON, November 18-22 in Dallas, Texas, and then packing up again for Dragonsteel Nexus, December 3-5 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. Two very different communities, both full of people who understand why a good table (or a good story) is worth building right. We can't wait to meet as many of you as possible, see your games in action, and talk shop about everything from wood species to worldbuilding. If you'll be at either show, come find us and say hello.
A Slower Season for Robert and Sara
There's one more piece of news we wanted to share, and it's a personal one. As the partnership with Omni Gaming has settled in and the shop has found its rhythm, Robert and Sara have started easing into the retirement they've more than earned after a decade of building this company from the ground up. These days, you're just as likely to find them elbow-deep in renovations on an old Italian farmhouse as you are in the shop, and it's been wonderful to watch them finally slow down and enjoy the adventure they put off for so many years chasing lead times and lumber orders. Uniquely Geek will always carry their fingerprints, and we're so grateful for everything they built. We just think they've earned a little sunshine and slower mornings, too.
